This means that when it's extremely hot outside, pugs may not be able to expel excess heat, putting their health at risk. This is why you should strive to keep your Pug cool and comfortable at all times, especially in warm climates.

Smaller airways can also sometimes lead to a condition called reverse sneezing, in which it appears to wheeze and sneeze. This is usually harmless to the dog, but may cause it mild distress. Temperament and Behavior

The pug personality is sometimes described by the Latin phrase "multum in parvo," meaning a little bit a lot. This phrase refers to its strong-willed and charismatic personality, aided by its wide range of almost human-like facial expressions. Pugs were bred as small, cuddly companions and as such seem to have a natural sense of their owners' moods. This makes it a very good pet that can adapt to many different living situations. It just wants to spend as much time with its owner as possible, whether it's playing, exercising, or just lounging around the house. Learn about the best dog breeds for the cities that live here.

If you have a dog from a very young age, you are likely to have the best results in training and socialization.

best dog food

With many potential health problems, pugs require high-quality dog food with special emphasis on a healthy lifestyle. Puppies need about a cup of food per day, while adult pugs need about a cup and a half. You can also give it snacks from time to time to strengthen its obedience training. But due to its tendency to overeat and gain weight, you should always keep an eye on your dog's calorie consumption. If your dog starts to gain weight, be prepared to cut back on your calorie intake. Maintenance and Grooming

Pugs have a short, glossy coat of fawn, silver, or black that requires semi-regular maintenance with a medium-bristle brush and mitts or mittens, probably once a week. Surprisingly, this breed can shed more hair than you might think considering the short length of the coat, so it's important to remove any loose hair as much as possible. Pugs don't need regular baths unless they are extremely dirty. Nails should be trimmed regularly to prevent discomfort and annoyance.

Pugs are docile, calm-tempered, playful and charming, and are very easy to train, especially from a young age. It just wants to please its owner by showing obedience. Although this is a small breed, it can be trained to perform any trick and task you can imagine. However, the Pug is a sensitive soul and may not respond well to harsh training methods. That's why you should encourage it with positive feedback and treats. Try not to raise your voice or get frustrated about it.

pug sport

Pugs are a great breed for people who don't need an overly active dog. It is comfortable to spend most of the day resting at home. However, to keep your dog healthy, pug owners should give their pets regular, moderate exercise, such as walks and plays. Although the pug is not the most athletic breed, it is capable of agility and athletic competition. Since he has a tendency to gain weight, exercise will help keep him from becoming heavy or obese. Whenever you go outside in the summer, you should make sure your dog has adequate sun protection and drinks water regularly to prevent overheating.

Due to the many health issues with this breed, you should get an early health check from your veterinarian as soon as you buy your puppy. You may want to watch for any genetic or immune disorders that sometimes affect puppies. It's best to catch them early so you have time to intervene. A silver, fawn or black coat should also develop from an early age.
